It is usual in the Netherlands that every school has a MR (participation council). This MR is formed with some teachers and interested parents from school. 
Because of the contstant movement in our school and children following an educational program for 40 till 60 weeks, the compund of the MR will change every schoolyear.
In the MR parents can think along developments inside school, but will also get insight in for example budget plans, school policy, etc. When there needs to be voted about important questions, two parents have voting rights within our MR.
